The best speaker in the world shares his experience in public speaking
AlQahtani: a speech disorder when I was young made me public speaking champion when I grew up

Mohammed Abdullah AlQahtani, the world champion in Public speaking said that being courageous, confident, joining the Toastmasters club all factored in his success, and achieving the title "best public speaker in the world" AlQahtani was the Tuesday monthly meeting guest in Asharqia Chamber on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. He said that that he was self-motivated to enter this competition because winning the title was a dream of his. He added that everyone has various potentials but when we usually think about our dreams we tend to think of the obstacles and not the goals because thinking of the obstacles gives us the incentive to overcome them.

He pointed out that when he was young he used to have a difficulty speaking fluently. Thus, he made it a goal to overcome this shortcoming, and he achieved that by getting this title. He asserted that it was Gods will, and it was mingling with people who constantly push you to be better without putting obstacles in your way. He mentioned that when he first joined Saudi Aramco he avoided talking and tended to focus on his work. Until one of the officials came and encouraged him to talk more freely, by using the example of the fist that lies so many eggs quietly and the chicken that lies one egg but very loudly for the whole world to hear her.

He mentioned that he is working on a national campaign that includes 15 cities and municipality across Saudi. The aim of this campaign is to introduce the idea of public speaking to the largest slice of society. He pointed that many successful people face the issue of not being able to express their thoughts and ideas clearly.

As for an essential factor in public speaking, he said it is the listener. If the listener was interacting and engaging, then we can say that the speaker is successful. Moreover, he mentioned that he is willing to help anyone who has the desire to learn the art of public speaking. Many businessmen attended the meeting. Abdulrahman AlOtaishan, Asharqia Chamber chairman, presented the guest with a plaque of appreciation for his efforts.
